Nurture, soft-spokenness, real-life, heartfelt, and positivity

Aah, I went to the library again today. I think I am addicted to the library. It just satisfies me these days! My kids love it too!

Today, I grabbed a bunch of books from the parenting section. Just to feed my insatiable hunger to learn more about one of my favorite things.

The first book I think I will read is titled, “Parenting with Spirit. 30 Ways to Nuture Your Child’s Spirit and Enrich Your Family’s Life.” by Jane Bartlett.  I thought this sounded exactly like me! Here’s a description, from the back of the book;

What does it mean to “parent with spirit”? It means finding ways to give your family life more depth and meaning. It’s about creating ways of being with you children that foster profound love and a sense of connection and purpose. And above all, it’s making time to nuture your children’s-and your own-spiritual developement amid the frenzy of your daily life….…”

I am not sure where the author is coming from, but if I can glean any little morsel of grace and love, that is my goal.

I also picked up “Soft-Spoken Parenting. 50 Ways to Not Lose Your Temper With Your Kids.” By H. Wallace Goddard, PH.D. (what’s with the books with all the “ways”…..) It’s just ideas I am looking for here, and I long to grow in tenderness with my words!!!!

“Real-Life Homeschooling. The Stories of 21 Families Who Teach Their Children at Home.” by Rhonda Barfield. I just love true life stories or testimonies!

Heartfelt Discipline. The Gentle Art of Training and Guiding Your Child.” by Clay Clarkson. On the back it says this; “If you long for a fresh, fully biblical, faith-directed approach to discipline that spares the rod but doesn’t spoil your children, you will find it here.”  Well that’s great, loving discipline that actually feels loving!

Positive Discipline. A-Z. 1001 Solutions to Everyday Parenting Problems.” by Jane Nelsen, ED.D., and others…..this should be interesting, it takes a positve approach to parenting. I am all about the positives these days!

They were several others that are kind of random, I guess I am just hoping to fuel the fire and keep inspired!!!!
